Exposed – 184 creatives for Milan wants to give an unconventional portrait of the city of Milan, through the eyes of the artists and creative people that live and work there. The project consists of 184 portraits – actors, dancers, photographers, designers and creative people generally speaking. What all the images have in common is the presence of one word (or a short sentence) within the picture, where the poser says what they love about Milan – it could be a neighborhood, a feeling, a memory. The final outcome is a very complex portrait of the city itself, far away from the stereotypes that are usually associated with it.
My exhibition, “Exposed” wants to show how Milan still plays a key role in the international cultural scene at a very delicate moment – the city is currently getting ready for the World Exhibition, which will start in May 2015 and has proven to be a quite controversial event.
The images will be showcased at a solo exhibition at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, from April 23 to May 23 2015.
I have been working on this project for over a year. Now that I am finally done with the portraits, I am working on a much more challenging aspect of this project, which is finding the funds to support it. I need your help in order to be able to print out the book of the project. The book size will be 21×29.7cm and it will have 224 pages. A sum of 8,000 USD will allow me to print 1,000 copies and will make it easier for me to pay for the costs of the whole exhibition, which so far is completely self-financed.
The images you see here are only a tiny preview of the whole project. You can see some extra contents – including some backstage images – by clicking here
Thanks very much for your kind attention and for your support!
