A graduate of Gray’s School of Art, I ran a web design business for nearly 20 years in Glasgow. Since exiting the business in the summer of 2014, I’ve been looking around at what to do with the next half of my life. I last held a real camera about 25 years ago when I learned about film processing and darkroom techniques - nothing about how to actually use a camera. It seemed the right time to finally learn how to shoot. I certainly don’t profess to have mastered it all in such a short period of time, but in that period I have travelled over 30,000 miles, taken over 60,000 shots, camped and hiked to many remote locations in all manner of weather and discovered within me a skill I never knew existed. It has also deepened my love for this beautiful country, its wonderful outdoors and appreciate the fantastic variety on offer just a few miles from my doorstep. Highly Commended in the 1st Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2014 competition. Winner of the Sunday Post Iconic Scotland Photo Competition 2014/5. Winner of Scotland Magazine Photographic Competition 2015. Commended, UK Landscape Photographer of the Year 2015. 2nd place in the ‘Non Professional: Architecture, Bridges’ category at the 2015 International Photography Awards.
